Golf Umbrellas

Golf players are the sort of people who will do something even if there is some discomfort involved.  This includes things such as playing golf in the rain.  One of the advantages of having people who will play golf in any weather is that they have created a market for wet weather golfing clothes and equipment.  One of the most widely used pieces of wet weather equipment on the golf course is the humble golf umbrella.

Golf umbrella’s are available in an endless number of different colours, patterns and styles.  The design that a golfer chooses for their umbrella may be the colours of their favourite football team, it may be a pattern that matches the golf bag or buggy they own or it may have been the first one that they grabbed when going out  the door on a rainy golf day.  The other personalized part of a golf umbrella is the handle part.  Many golf umbrellas feature a stylized handle which serves the purpose of looking fancy and makes the umbrella easy to hang on to.  Golf umbrella handles are available in many different materials including wood and plastic and the designs vary form straight handles to curved.

The major difference between the regular umbrella and a golf umbrella is basically the size.  Golf umbrellas are almost twice the size of a regular umbrella and are build sturdier to withstand windy conditions that generally occur while on the golf course during rain.  The golf umbrella keeps you much drier than a regular sized umbrella due to the increased size but a disadvantage of the large size is that these umbrellas do not fold up as compact as a regular umbrella.

Golf umbrellas are a common sight on the golf course as many people will carry a golf umbrella around with them on the course regardless of inclement weather.    Many people have a custom made spot on their golf buggy or in their golf bag for a golf umbrella to be stored.  This is great for those situations where the weather was great when you started your round of golf but due to the time it takes to play, especially if you decide to play 18 holes, the weather may have changed from a great sunny day to a not so great rainy affair.
